Texas is the state for wide open spaces but with the weakened economy many people are losing their homes to Texas bank foreclosures. While these people are victims to a foreclosure system that appears to have gone haywire, their responsibility as pet owners does not end when their home is foreclosed. Not to say that this is only happening in Texas, but throughout the US people who are having their homes foreclosed upon are leaving their pets behind when they are evicted. They have become forgotten victims who cannot speak for themselves.

Many investors are involved in the business of purchasing Texas and other bank foreclosures. And not all people have ignored the little victims of foreclosure. To this end the “Help for Foreclosure Pets” or FCP has been formed. It is a resource that is available online, and provides support to home owners, real estate agents and investors alike, who find these little guys left alone and abandoned in foreclosure homes. They make sure that any pets found at foreclosed properties are taken in and cared for until alternative accommodation or homes may be found for them.

The FCP appeals to investors and real estate agents who find abandoned pets in foreclosure properties to contact them, and not simply drop the animals off somewhere where they are unable to fend for themselves. They have centers and volunteers throughout the nation, in all communities who will foster these animals until homes are found, please make use of this service. If you cannot find a FCP service in the community where your have found a foreclosure pet, then please use the local pet shelter. Financial crisis is difficult for everyone; pets can be cared for by willing people and not just left behind to die.
