Iowa Foreclosures - Burlington

The state of Iowa is known for corn, flat land and being the birthplace of John Wayne. The economy lately has also added the Midwestern state onto the list of states suffering in the foreclosure crisis that has gripped the nation. As we have seen, other midwestern states have been suffering longer than some of our sister states due to the crises affecting the farmers for many years reached the general population. Today the rest of the country is facing the foreclosures that have plagued the mid section of the country for many years. There are homes in foreclosure here that have been there for many years and there is a steady influx of new foreclosures every day. While there is a lot of property out there, you should be aware that there is a lot of it which contains not only a home or other structure, but since there are still a lot of farm foreclosures, you will find that there are other buildings there and some may contain not just a little but a lot of land. Acres of it in fact are attached to many of these farms. And although the state ended the month of December 2008 with only a 0.067 percent foreclosure rate that is still high for an area of the country where most of the land is family owned and has been in the family for generation after generation. The month-to-month numbers have remained fairly steady and while the forecast is for things to stay pretty much where they are in this portion of the country with little change up or down, it is still a heartbreaking state of affairs to watch land being foreclosed that has been under the same family name for so long and it is sad knowing that the trend is going to continue.
